The 349-guestroom room property, which opened this past Sept. 22 along Hollywood, Fla.’s historic “Broadwalk,’’ goes above even the highest expectations. Margaritaville Hollywood Beach combines the best of a high-end luxury hotel with the laid-back lifestyle of Margaritaville brand godfather Jimmy Buffett, whose song lyrics and memorabilia are resplendent throughout the 17-story complex that is as much a beachfront hotel as it is an entertainment complex (www.margaritavillehollywoodbeachresort.com).
The Hollywood Beach band shell, for example, is just outside Margaritaville’s back entrance and will provide live music five night per week. The resort itself will have live music at its various venues seven nights per week, and its three retail outlets will provide everything a Parrothead worth his or her shaker of salt would want.
With its eight food and beverage outlets, 24 poolside cabanas, 11,000 square-foot St. Somewhere Spa, immense pool deck that features a FlowRider Double surf experience, and 30,000 square feet of meetings space, Margaritaville undoubtedly will forever change the tourism and business landscape of its stretch of Highway A1A.
The LandShark Bar & Grill above the pool deck and Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville are the only two restaurants currently open. Over the next couple of months the resort will open the high-end JWB Prime Steak and Seafood restaurant; Floridays Airstream Cafe (Named after the 1986 album and song by Buffett); License to Chill Bar; 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill (across the street alongside the Intracoastal Waterway); Lone Palm Beach Bar; and Margaritaville Coffee Shop.
