Sun Sentinel: Hey, South Florida, got talent? Open auditions for Margaritaville resort
Can you sing and play covers of upbeat music? Then the Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort is looking for you.
The 349-room hotel, which is expected to open this summer with eight bars and restaurants and a spa, is conducting auditions for bands, duos and solo acoustic guitar performers from June 9-12.
There are some job requirements. Performers must be able to play cover songs that connect with guests of all ages and take requests. Covers should represent different genres of music, from classic rock and reggae to country and top 40. (It’s probably a safe bet to know a Jimmy Buffett tune or two.)
“We recognize the incredible musical talent that is present in South Florida and look forward to starting the casting process,” said Cate Farmer, the resort’s general manager, in an email. “Our goal is to identify memorable, innovative singers and musical acts that will engage our guests and convey the feeling of paradise found.”
