Environmental Initiatives at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort

Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort has implemented a range of environmental initiatives across our operations, including programs focused on waste reduction, energy efficiency, water conservation and recycling.

Waste Reduction & Products:

Refillable bulk dispenser systems for all guest bathroom amenities to reduce individual packaging waste.

Hand dryers added to public bathrooms to reduce paper towel consumption.

Increased use of QR codes throughout the resort to reduce printed material.

Combined resort map and key packet to reduce printed material.

Mobile app for in-room dining menu and ordering to reduce printed material in guest rooms.

Eliminated in-room compendium to reduce printed material in guest rooms.

Reusable RFID wristbands are used in place of traditional plastic key cards for guest room and pool access. Returned wristbands are reused when possible.

We partner with local composting company Filthy Organics to collect food scraps for composting, helping divert organic waste from landfill.

Each guest room includes two refillable water bottles, encouraging guests to reduce single-use plastic throughout their stay.

Worn towels that are no longer suitable for guest use are donated to the Humane Society of Broward County, extending their useful life while supporting local animal care.

Energy Efficiency:

Energy-efficient lighting, including LED fixtures, throughout the hotel.

Motion sensors in administrative and storage areas to reduce energy consumption.

HVAC system controlled by a programmable energy management system for guestrooms, public areas, meeting spaces and conference areas.

Guestroom bathrooms feature low-flow toilets and shower heads.

In-house commercial laundry utilizes a recycled water system.

Guests may choose to reuse towels during their stay, reducing unnecessary laundering.

The resort's irrigation system is designed to optimize coverage and improve water-use efficiency.

Recycling Initiatives:

Battery recycling program to prevent improper disposal.

Light bulb recycling program in place.

Cardboard recycling program in place.

Our pallet recycling program helps divert used wooden pallets from landfills by ensuring they are reused or recycled.

Used printer toner cartridges are recycled through manufacturer recycling programs, helping divert office waste from landfills.

Sea Turtle Nesting Season

Hollywood Beach provides nesting habitat for loggerhead, green and leatherback sea turtles. Sea turtle nesting season runs from March 1 through October 31, when the City of Hollywood's Turtle Friendly Lighting Ordinance is in effect.

Turtle nesting activity is monitored by the Broward County Sea Turtle Conservation Program (BCSTCP).
